Little Tokyo
My street and documentary photography series about Little Tokyo in Düsseldorf consists of a blend of portraits, street shots, and documentary images. Through this combination, I aim not only to portray the diversity and uniqueness of life in Little Tokyo but also to convey the neighborhood's essence.
Through portraits, I get to know the people of Little Tokyo more intimately and can tell their stories. Street photography allows me to observe community life from various perspectives and capture everyday moments. Documentary photography, on the other hand, provides me with the opportunity to showcase the connection between Japanese culture and life in the Western world.
By blending these different forms of photography, I seek to capture the essence of Little Tokyo and bring it closer to viewers of my images. I want to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of this small piece of Japan in the Rhine metropolis and contribute to a better understanding and appreciation of the diversity and connection between different cultures.
