Hier trage ich die Hose!
The task at hand involved transforming a vintage pair of jeans into a garment inspired by the designs of Hed Mayner, known for his work with contrasting styles, ranging from oversized to form-fitting. To achieve the oversized look, the technique of "cutting and twisting" was employed, allowing the jeans to be enlarged to the desired proportions.
For the top, a bandeau that snugly embraces the body was chosen, complemented by a jacket that contrasts by being loose on one side and snug on the other. This combination accentuates the duality of Mayner's style, which merges contrasting elements for a striking visual effect.
A female model was selected to emphasize the empowerment of women through the oversized clothing. The choice of title, "Hier hab ich die Hose an!", reflects a play on the traditional phrase, "Who wears the pants?" This idiom originates from a time when only men wore trousers and held dominant roles in both society and the family. By subverting this notion, the title underscores the shift in power dynamics, highlighting the woman's authority and strength.
